We had such an amazing experience diving with Karen for 3 days in our first time in Cabo- and we will exclusively dive with her in our future trips. My wife and I only usually dive 5-6 days a year on vacation so we can be a bit rusty but Karen was very helpful in helping with our buoyancy and confidence.
She was excellent in the water finding fish and other critters for us to see. On the dive boat she set up all of our gear, and helped us in and out of the water.
We did an excursion in La Paz to dive with seals and free dive with whale sharks – Karen made the entire experience absolutely amazing. She is incredibly intelligent about the sea life and local area, it was like having a marine biologist aboard with us.
Do not hesitate to adventure with Karen. She is a genuine person who will go above and beyond to make your experience breathtaking.
Karen was a wonderful guide. She planned the entire day and took care of everything. I had never been snorkeling before and I was very intimidated by the thought of leaping over the side of a boat into the ocean with these ginormous creatures – even if the are vegetarians! Karen provided encouragement and support and helped my husband and I to be successful! Karen is extremely knowledgeable and a pleasure to be with. We look forward to both o king her next year for a sea lion adventure.
My friends and I went on a trip to La Paz to swim with whale sharks. Our guide was Karen and she really makes the experience complete. From start to finish of the trip she was great fun and very informative. The trip to La Paz with this company is fantastic as you are not rushed and it is a personalized experience. Karen goes the extra mile to make sure you spot and swim with the whale sharks and have and amazing time doing so. We stopped at a great spot for lunch and she even took us to the famous hotel California on the way back. If you are in Cabo and want to see whale sharks or carry out any water activity I highly recommend going with Adventures in Baja for the best experience.
Such a cool experience and I now must get certified.
We met Karen while hiking above Lovers Beach in Cabo San Lucas and she showed us a secret entrance to our hotel over the cliffs between Divorce Beach and Grand Solmar at Lands End. Afterward, over drinks, she mentioned that she ran tours in the area and we knew we had to take one.
Two days later we took an amazing hiking tour in the Sierras, chatting the whole way up to a working ranch in the foothills of the nearby mountains.
When we arrived at the destination, the adventure began. Karen arranged for a guide to take us upriver along a gently running current. We swam across wide pools, scrambled up smooth rocks, found “fools gold” flake, and even scrabbled through a cave/waterfall to pop out upriver, where we continued our hike. When my wife stepped on a bee, the hired guide removed the stinger before the venom had time to set. When we needed photos taken, or the local environment explained, Karen was there.
After heading back downstream and to the car, we went back to a working ranch, owned by friends of Karen’s. We ate an amazing traditional Mexican meal of cactus, beef, veggies, rice and quesadillas, all cooked in an outside kitchen. We toured the ranch and were shown an abundance of local plants growing on the property. The ranch owner applied a natural remedy from a tree to a cut my wife had received earlier in the week.
I would not hesitate to take any tour Karen offers. She is friendly and knowledgeable and made our day-hike in the Sierras a memorable one.
We booked Karen for two full day excursions. Whale sharks in La Paz and hiking the Sierra de la Laguna. Both were fantastic. Karen took care of all the details of getting there, setting up all the needed gear, meals, snacks, water, taking some photos with her waterproof camera etc… and let us enjoy the experience. She’s so knowledgeable and has made great local connections to give you a very unique experience. Karen is also a fantastic human, so spending time with her and learning about her unique life experiences was such a joy. I also have to note we appreciated her respect for the people of Mexico and the environment. Like I said, she’s a wonderful person. I also want to highlight our hiking guide Rogelio. He was hospitable, fun, funny and really made it a great trip, especially for my kids 18, 15 and 10 who all had a great time. Something for everyone to enjoy. It was great that it was just our family and we were not in a huge commercialized group.
Thanks for a really good reintroduction to diving for us all! We appreciated your attention to detail and safety and for spotting many creatures! Hope to dive with you again someday!
Karen we had a great time. Great memories. Thanks again.
Thanks so much for the great instruction, great photos, and the gentle hand. Sofia and I loved it.
